Fuel Ethanol:
The Delta T moisture/dryer control system (more info) consistently reduces the
moisture variation of dry distilled grains with solubles (DDGS) exiting ring and
rotary dryers by at least 30%, and sometimes more. The Delta T is based on a
unique “inside-the-dryer” moisture sensor consisting of two temperature sensor
and a mathematical model. This reduction in variation enables the mean
moisture content to be increased thus increasing production, reducing unit
energy consumption and improving product quality. Capital payback is
substantially less than one year.
The Delta T effectively replaces: (1) the exhaust temperature moisture control
method that is based on a poor correlation between dryer exhaust gas
temperature; (more info) and (2) control systems using conventional moisture content
sensors exiting suspension dryers such as ring, flash, rotary and spray.
